White River and Beaver Lake
From my studio, I watch the changing moods of Beaver Lake, a fresh-water impoundment that is the first in the White River's chain of lakes which includes Tablerock, Taneycomo, Bull Shoals and Norfork. Once the river runs past the dams, it flows into the Mississippi. I fly fish the rivers for trout and tackle fish the lakes for bass, including smallmouth and monster stipers. Fishing allows me to observe and absorb with all my senses. And then I paint in hopes of capturing the feel of each moment, each place, each watery permutation.
